The Living Movie

In the early 1980s, as technology and broadcasting ushered in a quantum leap forward for viewers and their expectations of entertainment, Moses conceived his idea of "The Living Movie" Although this ethos manifested itself throughout Moses’ entire oeuvre, these projects best represent his big idea the forms of theatre, attraction, and media.

299 QUEEN STREET WEST (1987-2003)

In 1987, the former Methodist Book Publishing building at 299 Queen Street West was transformed into the new HQ for Citytv and MuchMusic, becoming the epi-centre for Toronto’s burgeoning cool reputation on the world stage.

99 QUEEN STREET EAST (1972-1987)

Once home to Toronto’s infamous Electric Circus psychedelic dance club, 99 Queen Street East was transformed by Moses Znaimer into a Studioless Environment for the first 15 years of Citytv and 3 years of MuchMusic.

TAMARA (1981-2002)

Tamara was an interactive play written by John Krizanc, which invied audiences into a gigantic set (a house) as over 100 scenes unfurled in different locations

TOUR OF THE UNIVERSE (1985-1992)

Based upon a book which Moses Znaimer discovered at an airport, Tour of the Universe was the world’s very first space flight simulator ride, a space port and shuttle simulation that took guests to Jupiter and beyond.
